I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
